SEC Football Week 13 Preview

If you haven't read it yet, you'll laugh at least three times at our SEC Football Week 12 Review.

It’s rivalry week in the SEC as the 2010 season comes to a close. I will be in Knoxville with my bud, Coach B, so I will prepare a full report that should include several high and low jinks on the afternoon. So, without further ado, let’s talk about what is about to go down…

Auburn at Alabama (Friday)

Auburn has the hopes of the entire conference riding on them as two more wins will put them in the National Championship game. Problem is, one of those games is against Alabama, and the Tide has a thing about not wanting the best for their in state neighbors.

Here’s what it boils down to: Auburn is the better team, but Bama has Nick Saban and over 100,000 fans wearing houndstooth hats who will not be wishing the orange and blue well. Christmas comes early for Saint Nick and the Red Elephants as the dream season turns into a Crimson nightmare for the Tigers.

Alabama 28 – Auburn 17

Kentucky at Tennessee

Tennessee has not lost to the 'Cats since 1984, which is the longest winning streak between two teams in NCAA history. That means that every player in this game has not lived through a Kentucky victory over Tennessee. As bad as the Vols have been this year, it seemed as if they hadn’t won a game since 1984.

Well, all good things must come to an end. Problem is, it won’t be this year. Smokey, you can take the bag off your head, the Vols winning streak goes to 26.

Tennessee 35 – Kentucky 24

LSU at Arkansas

Sorry to tell the ever growing Les Miles fan club that you might have some defectors come Saturday night. You can start with these two…

LSU Fans

Arkansas ruins LSU’s BCS hopes.

Arkansas 42 – LSU 35

Mississippi State at Ole Miss

More Cowbell Obama

The 107th edition of the Egg Bowl will kickoff in Oxford on Saturday with both teams “egg-cited” to have the opportunity to stop all the “yokes” about their play on the field. Ole Miss has “egg-sasperated” their fans this year as other teams have “cracked” their chances at victory.

On the other side of the pan are the surprising Bulldogs, who have “scrambled” their way to seven wins and are in the “Poached” season for the first time under second year coach Dan Mullen. I am sure this will be an “egg-ceptional” game and when it is all over, the Bulldogs will be the ones with “egg” on their faces.

Ole Miss 24 – Mississippi State 20

Vanderbilt Thumb

Wake Forest at Vanderbilt

What a better way to end the year by facing off against your most hated rival. Well, when it comes to SAT scores I guess…

Wake Forest 31 – Vanderbilt 14

Georgia Tech at Georgia

UGA

These two schools hate each other more than Fibromyalgia (Whatever the hell that is, I just remember it from the commercials. On the first try I butchered the spelling on it so badly, even the spell check message read, “Nice try, moron).

Both teams have had subpar season and rumor has it that Mark Richt’s job may hinge on the outcome. I saw Tech play last week in a heart pounding victory over Duke. Because it was so close, and it should not have been, I am thinking Coach Richt will be wearing red and black for at least one more season. And this guy needs to be wearing a Bro or a Man-Zere every season…

Georgia 42 – Georgia Tech 14

South Carolina at Clemson

Gamecock Football

Carolina has won the SEC East, while Clemson failed to repeat as division champions in the ACC Coastal. Carolina has the better team, and while Clemson is tough, they have a nasty habit of underachieving. I think Coach Spurrier has the 'Cocks headed in the right direction and will have no problems in a nice tune up before playing for the SEC Championship.

South Carolina 38 – Clemson 28

Florida at Florida State

Seminole Fans

FSU can still play for the ACC Championship while the Gators season ended a long time ago. In a streaky, but even, rivalry, the series stands 17-17-1 in the last 35 meetings. Believe it or not, the Zooker, Ron Zook, started the current streak for Florida, and it has reached six coming into this year’s matchup.

Being an SEC man, I would love to pick the Gators. However, they have no offense, no defense, and no hope.

Florida State 27 – Florida 14

Can't disagree with you more on the "Boot" Bowl and the "Egg" Bowl. Miss St played with so much more determination last Saturday against a fine Arkansas …
