2010 Pre-Season All-SEC Team

by Paul Grossinger

Here's SEC Sports Fan's 2010 pre-season All-SEC Football Team:

Offense:

QB: Ryan Mallett, Arkansas

McElroy will win more games but Mallett is the stud producer

RB: Mark Ingram, Alabama

Need I explain this one?

WR: Julio Jones, Alabama

The best receiver on the best team in the conference

WR: A.J. Green, Georgia

An exceptional talent

TE: D.J. Williams, Arkansas

Should be Ryan Mallett’s top target and produce accordingly

C: Mike Pouncey, Florida

Not quite his brother but close enough

G: Barrett Jones, Alabama

The gritty anchor of the conference’s best line

G: Carl Johnson, Florida

Has a new task ahead of him: protect a pocket passer

T: Clint Boling:

The conference’s most talented lineman

T: Lee Zimba, Auburn

Bigger than the school bus

Defense:

DE: Cliff Matthews, South Carolina

His team’s defensive leader

DE Marcel Daraeus, Alabama

Is he Nick Saban’s toughest lineman?

DT: Jerrell Powe, Ole Miss

Can his team find its 2008 form?

DT: Nick Fairley, Auburn

Absolutely massive, he’s like a human roadblock.

LB: Justin Houston, Georgia

The conference’s best linebacker

LB: Dont’a Hightower, Alabama

Can’t you pick any starter on the Tide? I’m half serious…

LB: Craig Stevens, Auburn

His team is a few more top recruiting years away from true glory

CB: Patrick Peterson, LSU

Leader of a tough LSU secondary

CB: Jenoris Jenkins, Florida

A stud, the fact that he is slightly undersized won’t matter until he hits the NFL

S: Charles Mitchell, Mississippi State

An unorthodox choice from a bad team, but I like his game

FS: Janzen Jackson, Tennessee

Can he play up to his talent?

K: Blair Walsh, Georgia

P: Drew Butler, Georgia

No brainers, if the rest of the Bulldogs squad was as good as its special teams, they’d go undefeated.

CB #2
by: SouthKackalacki

i would put Gilmore (USC CB) above Jenkins, Athlon had him as the #4 CB in the nation

and Gilmore has NFL size and speed, he also does alot more than just cover WRs(wildcat QB and returns kicks)

he also held ur #1 WR to 0 catches in bama as a True Fresh....and i dont think Julio is the best, i think AJ is way better

by: Anonymous

A.J. Green - 53 catches/ 808 yds.
Julio Jones- 43 catches/ 596 yds.
Darvin Adams- 60 catches/ 997 yds.

Why is Adams not first team? B.S.

Bama 2010 Champs!!!
by: Anonymous

I believe that AJ Green is the best WR in the nation. He has done more with less, as far as teams go. Mark Barron is a Pre-Season All-American. He has to be on this list.
