University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Trip

Roll Tide Roll! The Alabama Crimson Tide is undeniable. Fans love and support The University of Alabama and why wouldn’t they? The enthusiasm is absolutely everywhere. Alabama’s very existence is often believed to revolve around Bama Football. See Alabama Crimson Tide Football History.

Alabama football excitement is greater than ever this year with the arrival of new coach Nick Saban. Bryant-Denny stadium will be rocking!

Fans who travel to Tuscaloosa for game day know to expect heavy traffic. Parking is made easier because fans can look forward to a lift to the game if they can’t find a parking space close to the stadium. With the Crimson Ride Transit System, Alabama football fans can park and ride right to the entrance. Convenient isn’t it?

Tailgating in Alabama has always been a big affair and this year, you can expect a sell-out for spaces early. “Kickoff at the Quad” is where you’ll find game day fun in Alabama. It’s Tuscaloosa’s answer to ballgame festivities. With sponsors like Coca-Cola, tailgating Crimson Tide-style is family friendly!

When visiting Tuscaloosa, you’ll want to make reservations early. Some hotels may have a two-night minimum stay. Four Points by Sheraton is a fan favorite because it is conveniently located and because the service is always impeccable, even during SEC football! Located on campus, Four Points offers guests turn-down service and club-level rooms. Celebrate your weekend with an upgraded room by Sheraton!

A new fan-favorite hotel is about three miles or so from Coleman Coliseum (basketball venue) but it’s a great value for traveling sports fans. The new Comfort Suites just opened in 2006 and is located on McFarland Boulevard. Providing a great value (under $150 a night) and spacious rooms, you’ll find the Comfort Suites close enough to the action for game day but far enough away for a little peace after the party!

The University of Alabama is the hub of Tuscaloosa but there are many other places to see while you’re in the area. The Paul W. Bryant Museum is home to all the “Bear” Bryant memorabilia you could ever want. Stop in and find out more about the coach that made national history as well as Alabama history as the Best All-Time-College-Football-Coach. His wins, his teams, his life are all chronicled at The Paul W. Bryant Museum.

Another fun trip to make while you’re in town is to the Mercedes-Benz US International Visitor Center and Factory Tour. An hour and a half spent there and you’ll be sold on Mercedes-Benz for a lifetime. Worth the time spent on the guided tour!

When visiting Tuscaloosa, admittedly there’s more to do on campus than off. Crimson Tide fans often find they’re inclined to stay closer to campus because they don’t want to miss any of the action.

The party starts in Alabama the day before the home game, regardless of who strolls into town (as the opponent) so keep that in mind when you’re making your reservations.

If you want to be in the center of the party, then you may want to stay within a few blocks of the Crimson Tide Fanfare! However, those fans who still value a little rest and relaxation will find plenty of hotel choices within a few miles of The University of Alabama’s campus. Roll Tide Roll!
