University of Arkansas Fayetteville Trip

The home of The University of Arkansas is in Fayetteville. There, fans find the Razorbacks and they discover the pride of those who wear their school colors with a wide smile and excessive pride. If you take a trip to Fayetteville, Ark. – you will experience a great SEC college town.

The Razorbacks on or off the field are students dedicated to making Arkansas proud and lately, they’ve done a pretty good job. More and more fans are finding the spirit and enthusiasm return them to Fayetteville for college game day.

Tree-lined streets invite guests into the area and during the fall of the year, football fans get to experience the true beauty of the area when the colors of autumn brighten up the entire town. Fayetteville’s Razorbacks bring fans into Arkansas and often, they hang around for a few days to do some shopping and relaxing.

Downtown Dickson Street is idealistic hometown USA. The college is located in the northern part of Arkansas but it still maintains more of a southern charm than many schools found in the Deep South. Friendly faces welcome visitors and are generally eager to talk about the success of the Razorbacks.

The Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium has the capability to handle a crowd of eighty thousand fans and with that number; fans can expect to find some difficulty in reserving their room close to the game. Naturally, SEC Football brings in a crowd regardless of who the Razorbacks face so early room reservations are highly recommended.

Traveling to Fayetteville for basketball games is a great sports trip as well because Arkansas' Bud Walton Arena is probably the Best SEC Basketball Arena.

There are chain-hotels and motels for every budget. The Clarion and Best Western are two favorites and fans find these two properties often book up fast during the sports seasons. The Days Inn and Hampton Inn are also popular in Fayetteville. However, The Cosmopolitan seems to be the favorite place to make a reservation.

Located in the historic downtown area on the square, The Cosmopolitan is a hotel that will pull in Razorback fans for football and basketball. Newly renovated, believe it or not, this hotel will take your small pets if you don’t want to leave Fido at home alone. Fans should call ahead well in advance for College Gameday reservations.

Dining is always a big part of the Razorback experience. Some say the best barbeque can be found in Fayetteville but of course, since I’m in Memphis a lot, I’d probably have to disagree but it’s not bad maybe even a second finish to the Memphis barbeque dives.

If you want memorable dining, then keep 36 Club in mind and remember to ask for the spinach fettuccini! The best pizza in town is going to be found at Cable Car Pizza so make plans to have one before or after The University of Arkansas game. This is one must-do in Fayetteville! For Cajun dishes, some say Copeland’s is the only place in town but most agree unanimously that Copeland’s is the place for a great steak dinner.

Fayetteville is also known for some great shopping. Keep in mind, the historic downtown area can be a bit pricey but like most shopping venues, there’s always a bargain to be found. With any luck, the Razorback fans of Arkansas may find one or two sports souvenirs to take back home!
