Auburn University Trip

Auburn, Alabama is home to Auburn University, if I had to choose a team other than Tennessee to cheer on, it would be a close tie between Auburn and the Georgia Bulldogs. I make this statement based on the great fans the school has following them around. I met many Auburn fans several years ago at the SEC Championship in Atlanta. The fans of Auburn leave an impression.

The Auburn Tigers are fortunate to occupy the gorgeous campus located in Alabama. Let’s face it, Alabama isn’t one of the prettier states, unless you’re on the Gulf, but yet somehow, the Tigers can roam on acres of beautifully maintained grounds meant just for Auburn University.

I think the university found the prettiest spot in the area for the campus and it’s a campus perfect to play host to many football (Jordan-Hare Stadium) and basketball (Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum) fans that pour into the town each year.

There are several things to do while you’re visiting Auburn but the top choice is often weather-dependent. The Surfside Waterpark is an awesome place to hang out in the summertime but by the time football season rolls around, it’s generally closed. Still, it never hurts to drive by there so you’ll know where you can return when you want a new water adventure.

Auburn men and women are golfers. If you like to practice your swing after watching a good game, you’ll find two excellent golf courses. Indian Pines Golf Course and Auburn Links Golf Course at Mill Creek are generally packed with Auburn fans anytime of year but most definitely after a rivalry game where men and women love to gather and brag on their Tigers!

There are several hotel choices throughout the city. The Jameson Inn, The Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn are all close to Auburn’s campus and these seem to be the favored properties because of the price point. You don’t want to break the bank when you are trying to see all of the home Auburn Games so keep these properties in mind. Fans can call Choice Hotels to book their Comfort Inn room or suite for the best rates or book online for internet specials.

Dining choices are everywhere just like most SEC college towns but there are a few honorable mentions that the Auburn Tiger fan should know about. Terra Cotta on East Magnolia Avenue is perfect for casual dining if you’d like to listen to live music while you have your meal. Try a steak if you visit the restaurant. They’re mouth-watering.

Also, for those fans who never like to see a party end, the Applebee’s closest to campus will be the best choice to find the on-going party after the game. Obviously, if you don’t get tickets to the game, this is where you’ll find the best Tigers-oriented crowd!

Yes, Auburn, Alabama is a haven for SEC football rivalry games. The passion has always run deep in the area for college football with many college greats going onto bigger football careers in the NFL.

Best of all, when you visit Auburn for any SEC game, you’ll have the opportunity to learn all about them! Auburn fans love their Tigers and have a unique ability to tell fantastic sports-related stories about their favorite home team!
