SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS BASKETBALL

For information about the current South Carolina Gamecocks basketball team, go to 2007 - 2008 South Carolina Basketball

South Carolina Gamecocks basketball had a tough year in 06-07. The men's team ended up dead last in the SEC East with a 4-12 conference record. They were 14-16 overall. In fact they were the only team in the SEC to have a losing record overall. And their 4-12 conference record was the worst in the SEC. Of course they played in the SEC East which is a much tougher neighborhood than the SEC West. Anyway, needless to say, no post-season tournaments. Just a bad year.

The Lady Gamecocks faired a bit better as they ended up 8th in the SEC with a 7-9 conference record. They were 18-15 overall.

The rest of this page has not been updated since the beginning of the season, so it shows our predictions.

********************************************

South Carolina Gamecocks Basketball has significantly improved. So much that the Gamecocks won the last two NIT tournaments. To accomplish that, many tough, clutch games were won and that experience will make the difference in some games this year. Still, I just don't think they have the talent to compete for the SEC East crown. I pick them to finish 5th in the East and return once again to the NIT tournament. Tre' Kelley is a great guard for the Gamecocks.

Unfortunately, the Gamecocks are off to a rocky start so far in 2007 SEC play.
