GEORGIA BULLDOGS BASKETBALL

For information on this year's Georgia Bulldogs basketball team, click on 2007 - 2008 Georgia Basketball

We were dead on with our predictions for Georgia Bulldogs Basketball in 2006 - 2007. Both the men's and women's teams had seasons as anticipated. We have to take credit where we can after missing so badly on LSU and Vanderilt.

Georgia's men's team ended up 5th in the SEC East with a 8-8 conference record and 19-14 overall. They were selected to the NIT tournament, losing in the second round to Air Force.

The Georgia Lady Bulldogs had a great year. They ended up in second place in the SEC with a 12-3 conference record and 27-7 overall. They were a 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and made it to the final 8 before losing to North Carolina. The Lady Bulldogs were also ranked 14th nationally at the end of the regular season.

The rest of this page has not been updated, but you can read what our predictions were at the beginning of the season.

*****************************

Georgia Bulldogs basketball will be solid this year. Unfortunately, for UGA, they are in the toughest division (SEC East) of perhaps the toughest college basketball league in the nation.

All five starters return, which will help for sure. But, I don't see them moving up past Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee or South Carolina. So, they likely will finish 5th in the East, only ahead of Vanderbilt. And Vandy is no cake walk either.

The University of Georgia is building a new, state of the art, practice facility. Perhaps this will help with recruiting in the future. The Bulldogs really need a new stadium.

And you really need your Georgia Bulldogs Merchandise and Apparel, Tickets, and Baseball Caps!

GEORGIA BULLDOGS BASKETBALL (Lady's)

Historically, the Lady Bulldog's are 3rd all-time -- nationally -- in number of appearances in March Madness' "Sweet 16". They have made it there 17 times.

The Georgia Lady Bulldogs have one of the top center’s in the country in Tasha Humphrey (a Kodak all-American last year). Guards Cori Chambers, Megan Darrah, and Janese Hardrick are great too. All of them will compete for All-SEC first or second team honors.

The Lady Bulldogs finished last season ranked 13th and begin this year ranked 9th in the AP poll. They are the consensus pick by SEC sportswriters to finish second to Tennessee in the conference (although a distant second).

I agree. They'll finish second; get a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament and get knocked out in the final 8.
