What's Your Sports Issue to Change?
Basically, I was outraged by the double standard in the sports world that allowed Bill Belichick to get off scott-free when caught cheating red-handed -- while other sports figures have been crucified for lesser offenses.
And, somehow, Belichick was (and so far still is) allowed to go about his business without even having to explain his actions.
Anyway, that's not the issue for this page. You can read all about it by clicking on the link above.
This page was created because it occurred to us that what happened with our Belichick Spygate page was a great example of how the internet can be used to give voice and power to regular people.
Believe me, I'm a very regular guy. Yet, well over 100,000 people have so far read the article I wrote about Belichick, Spygate and the Patriots. Hundreds of people commented about the story. Their comments have spawned other comments and are actually making a difference in the real world.
Just type any search term involving the "spygate" scandal into google and you'll see that the article I wrote is right at the top.
Not only that, but comments that others submitted to that page -- are also listed by google (and other search engines). And, thousands of people are reading those comments and many adding their own. So, momentum on the issue is building. And, amazingly, it started because one person felt their was an injustice that should be addressed.
So, the internet has given each of us a voice. Through it, you and I can make a difference.
And, there are many other issues we are trying to change as well. For instance, check out College Football Playoff and Sports Fan Forum.
Anyway, this page was born when a visitor to the Spygate page commented that there are much more significant issues we should be thinking about and trying to change. I totally agreed and figured -- why not create a forum on this site where people can create their own page on the internet addressing the issue they most want to see changed?
You'll see a link to the comment that spawned the idea below.
Of course, this is a sports site, so probably sports issues would be most appropriate. But, I don't think we'd reject any legitimate issue that is presented intelligently.
We'll see how it goes. Here's an example of what I'm talking about: how to make college football better.
Let's try to change the world for the better. Use the form below to tell us your sports issue to change.
Thanks a lot.
p.s. If you are curious how I build this website and whether you could do the same, you can read more about that at How I built this website.
