2010 Georgia Bulldogs Soccer Preview
2009 was an excellent year for the Georgia Bulldogs soccer team. The team went to the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year. The Bulldogs had an overall record of 15-6-1 for 2009. Their SEC record was 7-4-0. In fact, the 15 wins have tied the team for the most wins in a single season with the 2007 team who won 18 games. This is proof positive that the Georgia Bulldogs just keep getting better.
There were three players who were honored by the SEC from the 2009 team. These players were Laura Eddy, Carrie Patterson, and Susannah Dennis. Patterson went to eh All-SEC first team while Eddy was named 2009 SEC Freshman of the Year and also had a place on the All-SEC second team and All-Freshman team. Dennis was also on the All-Freshman team.
For 2010, Georgia has a powerful team. The entire team has 28 players, 20 of whom are returning from the 2009 team. 8 of those had at least 10 starts in 2009. This year, Georgia will give any team in the SEC a run for their money, and they are sure to improve even more over the last couple of years.
