Auburn Tigers tennis has traditionally ranked near the bottom of the Southeastern Conference. But, Tigers tennis took a nice step up last year and now ranks in the middle of the pack in the SEC. You can see this from the 2008 preseason poll that predicts Auburn's men's tennis team will come in 4th in the SEC West and the AU women will come in third.
And, amazingly Auburn Tigers Men's and Women's tennis both about the same nationally. In fact, the last poll at the end of the 2007 season had both of Auburn's teams ranked 29th in the nation!
Auburn Tigers Men's Tennis:
The Auburn men's tennis team has one freshman, one sophomore, five juniors, and two seniors. Head coach Eric Shore is excited about the upcoming 2008 tennis season. Playing singles for Auburn are Alex Petropoulos, Nick Maurillo and Hunter Mills. Jared White, the Tigers' athletic trainer, said that all the players are in good health coming into the 2008 season. So, that's a good sign.

The Auburn Tigers women's tennis team is led by duo of Alex Haney and Melissa Koning. Both finished in the top six in the ITA Southern Regionals.
The Tiger Lady's tennis team is led by head coach Tim Gray. Certainly the highlight for the team last year was when it defeated rival Alabama for the SEC West title.
