2010 ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS GOLF

Congrats to the Arkansas Men's Golf Team -- runner up in the 2009 NCAA Golf Championship. The Razorbacks beat Georgia in the Semifinals; then lost in the final round to Texas A&M 3-2. Not bad at all. It certainly bodes well for the future of Arkansas Razorback Golf in 2010 and beyond!!

After a bit of a down year in 2007, Arkansas Razorbacks golf was off to a good start in 2008. The men’s junior Jason Turner used an even par 71 recently and went into the third place tie at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate. The golf team sits in fifth position in the team standings.

Another Junior on the team, Andrew Landry finished another event, which he tied for eighth place. Making this his 11th top ten result as a Razorback and of his second year.

The head coach Brad McMakin has motivated his team so well that they’re now reaping the results and are on the way to the top of their game. Meanwhile, Layne Savoie was named as the associate head golf coach, taking some of the pressure off of head coach McMakin and helping to motivate the guys as well.

At this point, it’s anyone’s finish, so to speak. But they are optimistic and after all they are the "razorbacks". Would you really want to go up against one?

The Arkansas Razorbacks golf team of course has a golf camp, held during the last two weeks of June. The golf camps are open to any male golfer who has entered into their freshmen year at college.

Only the best for the Razorback golf team. Even during the "off" season you will still find them out and about practicing their shots. Accuracy and effectiveness are their catchwords. In seasons past, they have enjoyed mixed results but each time, they always come back Razorbacks ready to rock.

Arkansas Women's Golf

The Lady Razorback golfers come into the 2008 season ranked 25th nationally in pre-season polls.

Shauna Estes, the head coach for her Arkansas Razorback women's golf team believes before the season is finished, they will enjoy even more success. The Lady Backs finished ranked 27th nationally in 2007. Stacy Lewis, one of the Ladybacks, is a key to their successful outcome.

The Arkansas Razorbacks golf teams have an intense desire to defeat their opponents this season, and their coach believes they will do it.
