LSU Tigers Golf
In the 1940's and 50's LSU Tigers Golf was a force to be reckoned with. In fact, the LSU golf team won 4 NCAA golf championships in the 40's and 50's.
But, modern LSU golf is not nearly so glorious. In fact, the men's team ended 2007 unranked. The women's team ended up ranked 29th nationally.
However, looking ahead to the 2008 season, Chuck Winstead, the Tiger's head coach (for the men's team) is keeping a positive attitude. LSU is unranked in the 2008 Men's NCAA Div. 1 Golf preseason polls. But, maybe they can follow the lead of their football brothers and surprise everyone.
LSU Tigers Women's Golf Team
The LSU Tigers Golf -- women's team finished 2007 ranked 29th. But, they are not ranked in the 2008 preseason polls. Of course, in golf, team scores are not the only issue. Scores area also kept on an individual basis. And, last year, individual golfers on the LSU Lady Tigers golf team finished as high as fifth in several tournaments.
