Virginia vs. Auburn in Chick-Fila Bowl

Auburn will be looking to capitalize off of playing in a place they are familiar with in the Georgia Dome. They took some hits this year playing teams in the upper teer of a rough SEC. They really made a great few strides with a defense that stood up and an offense trying to find it's way. Trotter led the way in passing, but they had no Cam Newton. They will probably be looking elsewhere at that spot next season. Michael Dyer had a wonderful year running the ball. He is a speedy, but tough back that can tear through a line. They are thin at receiver with that being a talent thin position.

Virginia took a beating in their last game against Tech. They were left licking their wounds. They will be wanting to make a statement against a big named SEC team. The Virginia Team certainly knows their identity with Rocco throwing for 2359 yards and 11 touchdowns this year. They are a team headed in the right direction. If their running game shows up against Auburn, they may have to watch out.

Auburn will for sure be the favorite. They have the stronger and faster defense. Linebacker and defense line is their strength. Virginia does have some good athletes and team speed though. Auburn will have to watch out for the big play. If it happens, this might be the night the lights went out in Georgia for the Tigers. I don't think it will be though. Dyer is too good. They control the ball for too long during the game and keep the Virginia team from easy yards. They will simply make it an SEC game and no one else can play an SEC game other than the upper eshalon of the country, with Virginia not being that at this time. Virginia is going to have to hit the recruiting trail to hit the field with the big boys.

My prediction is that Dyer ends with 225 yards, they control the ball, and they simply dominate the clock as they know they can do. They just go out on the field and take care of business on a day that makes the people making bowl games look good by keeping the SEC in the games heavy. In a year when the records of SEC teams were down the bowl season is full of SEC play. The only chance for Virginia is for Rocco to be fearless in the pocket and find his guys Burd and Smith for a lot of big plays up the field and score quickly, getting off the field so he doesn't take a lot of shots. He is best served throwing bombs and coming to talk to the quarterback coach about how to throw the next post pattern.

Dyer, like I said 225 yards, Trotter throws 150 and 2 TD's. Field goals are good. Virginia hangs around for a half. Final score will be Auburn 24 and Virginia 14.
