Kansas State vs Arkansas

AT&T

Kansas State started the season off 7-0 receiving a high ranking and much BCS love for a while and until some losses at the end of the season they were looking at a BCS bowl game. The Arkansas Razorbacks were looking at a BCS magic early in the season, but a mid season loss to Alabama and then a collapse against LSU, of course these being the top two teams, keeps them just out of the BCS.

Arkansas has faired well in bowl games lately and a big win over a quality team like Kansas State would certainly be a boost. These are two teams similar in situation. They are good teams with good backgrounds who are building and just need to take that next step to being in the upper level of college football and being spoken of before each season as one of the teams to look out for. They will certainly provide for fireworks as this could be a game that shows us the future of the college game.

Kansas State bosts a good defense. They are very talented and athletic, they will need to be on their best wheels to keep up with the speed to the outside of Arkansas. If they can do that then they may just pull this thing off. Their offense is a solid and balanced one. They have a good solid runner with Klein just over 1000 yards. He gets the job done with 26 touchdowns. He's a tough inside runner who will grind for every yard. He will have to deal with a tough defensive line of Arkansas, but Arkansas is young there. They have solid core of receivers. They mostly spred it around other than Harper's 39 catches. He is a good medium range receiver. Klein the quarterback does a good job of keeping the ball and has thrown for 1745 yards doing a good job with only 5 interceptions.

Arkansas will mostly rely on it's explosive offense and the majority of that rests on the solid shoulder of1st year starter Tyler Wilson out of Greenwood Arkansas where he won 4 state titles playing for coach Jones and the Greenwood Bulldogs. He played quarterback from 4th grade for the Greenwood Pitbulls through the 6th grade when he got in Junior High and started every year for the school team. Tyler has been a success on every level of whatever he has done. Winning at other sports as well before deciding to stick with football, much to the dismay of this writer who was his traveling basketball team coach.

Tyler is a natural leader and has thrown for 3422 yards and 22 touchdowns this season. His emergence has certainly changed the fortunes of the team and certainly it's main two wide receivers, Wright who caught 63 balls for just over 1000 yards and 11 touchdowns and Joe Adams who caught 49 for 630 yards and 3 touchdowns. It's the running game too. Johnson and Wingo have really stepped up since the injure to Knile Davis. They have played above their heads.

This game comes down to talent and Arkansas has way more and the SEC is a better, much stronger conference. Kansas State has shown some things that have been very poor writing about people in Arkansas leading up this game saying they shouldn't have to play them and that will only make it worse. Arkansas 28 Kansas State 3.
