2011 SEC Football Is On It's Way

Well it's the end of June, baseball is riding high, NBA and NHL finally finished their championship games. NFL is still in the lockout mode, maybe there is a light at the end of this so called tunnel. College football is starting to creep up. Like many people in the southeast, it's a way of life. We live and eat football from September to the BCS championship game which is in the middle of January. Yikes!! I still can't believe we have to wait till mid January to find out who is the champion of college football.

The Georgia Bulldogs will host the Chick Fil A Kick Off Game at the Georgia Dome on September 3rd vs Boise State. This is going to be Georgia's first time doing this, since it began. On that same day, in Arlington Texas, LSU Tigers will be playing the Oregon Ducks. I'm still wondering if Oregon will repeat from last year's performance. I know one thing; Auburn will not be the same team like last year. Not with Cam Newton around, this year's squad will have more holes to fill. Tennessee will be a challenging team this season.

What about South Carolina? A team that won the SEC East division then loses to Auburn in the SEC Championship game. Steve Spurrier thinks these college players should get paid by their coaches. This was South Carolina's first SEC East division title since it joined the conference in 1992. Is Ole Miss ready to compete for a SEC West title? Houston Nutt will be hoping so. Besides playing the west teams, they have to play Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky. Yeah, 2 out of 3, will help their cause. Mississippi State who was 9-4 last season; will try to have another daunting season. They beat Georgia last year in Starksville, they will meet in Athens on Oct 1st. Mississippi State in their 3rd season under Dan Mullen will not be playing Florida or Tennessee. They will however play South Carolina.

Well is the SEC going to be reign champions this year? With all the troubles across the country like Ohio St, I wouldn't be surprised. Well I am going to Wisconsin this week, Big Ten country, maybe Russell Wilson will sign to the Badgers. I can't wait for the season to start; I know most people in the south are saying the same thing as me. When the season starts, everyone will be in their team colors and posting funny pictures of their team rivals on their window.
