2010 South Carolina Gamecocks Volleyball Preview
The 2009 South Carolina Gamecocks captured early victories with two tournament titles (Gamecock Invitational and Big Orange Bash). The team's overall record for the year was 14-16, with an SEC record of 5-15. Sarah Cline set the program's career digs record during 2009 while also claiming the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
The 2010 schedule pits the Gamecocks against top-100 teams (per the NCAA) in seven of 10 non-conference matchups. 13 matches will be played against last year's NCAA Tournament teams.
In his fourth year as head coach, Ben Somera leads 3 returning starting seniors in a challenging season that gives the team the opportunity to compete with winning teams and further promote volleyball in the state.
