South Carolina Gamecocks Softball

South Carolina Gamecocks softball is really strong. Not so much in the SEC, but outside of conference -- yes. The Gamecocks finished 2007 in 4th place in the SEC East with a 12-16 SEC record; but 38-26 overall. They also ended up ranked 21st nationally.

The South Carolina Gamecocks softball team's head coach is Joyce Compton. There are two assistant coaches -- Angela Thompson and Adrianna Baggetta.


Although there are six freshmen listed on the current roster, those are six very talented freshmen.

• Laura Menes is a freshman from Florida playing outfield,
  
• Ashton Payne is a junior from Virginia playing umpire.
  
• Kate Pouliot is a senior from South Carolina playing pitcher.
  
• Krystle Robinson is a sophomore from Georgia playing pitcher.
  
• Chrissy Schoomaker is a senior from Florida playing Umpire.
  
• Jill Semento is a freshman from Florida playing infield.
  
• Adele Voigt is a sophomore from Georgia playing outfield.
  
• Lindsay Walker is a sophomore from Georgia playing short stop.
  
• Jacqueline Wetherbee is a junior from Georgia playing 1st base.
