LSU Tigers softball is definitely the best in the SEC West, and actually battles Tennessee for the SEC Softball Championship. in 2007, the Lady Tigers won the SEC West and the SEC Softball Tournament. They also ended 2007 ranked #10 nationally.
The LSU Tigers softball team is led by head coach Yvette Girouard. The Tigers have a new director of operations, Adam Roorbach and student assistant coach Kristen Hobbs.
There are a few new freshmen on the team this year and the coaches hope some can step right in and contribute. Most of them were All-American softball players in high school.
One thing that LSU tigers softball teams have long been known for is their speed. Some of the team members also run track. In fact, some of them broke their high school running records while in track or cross country running. Needless to say, they get lots of stolen bases during the softball season.
