2010-2011 Alabama Crimson Tide Track and Field Preview
The Alabama men's track & field team finished the season ranked 23rd at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The team went into the competition with a 32nd place ranking in the nation. With the 11 points earned at the Championship being the highest points earned by the school since 2002.
Kirani James claimed the school's first NCAA outdoor title since 2002 and the school's first in the 400 meters with a time of 45.05.
The Alabama women's track & field team finished the season ranked 20th, with 13 points at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The women earned their highest point total with 13; the team's highest since 2007.
Chelsea Taylor finished third in the heptathlon with 5,617 points, becoming just the second Crimson Tide heptathlon performer to earn All-America honors in school history.
With both teams posting strong finishes at the Championships, hope remains high for an even more impressive 2010-2011 sesaon.
