The Kentucky Wildcats gymnastics team didn't do all that well the 2007 season. Ending up 7th in the SEC championships. However, so far 2008 is a different story. The Lady Wildcats already beat Auburn and are currently ranked 18th nationally.
The head coach for the 2007-2008 season is Mo Mitchell and the two assistant coaches are Jackie McCarter and Chuck Dickerson. Team manager Hilary Wilson supports them.
Although the Lady Cats finished 7th in the SEC championships that is still in the top ten, and of course the coaches and staff were proud of the team. Now, as they prepare for the 2008 season, they are learning new routines, moves that are more difficult to perform and follow through on and also agility techniques.
Power and excellence run in this team. Although they have had set backs over the last season they are ready to take on their opponents for the 2008 season.
The ladies work hard on vaulting and floor routines. The beam takes the most concentration and the most practice. However, if you think about all the routines, every one of the team members do their part. Although there are individual competitions and they must work hard to get that victory too, for the most part it is a team effort.
With some effort and extra practicing the coaching staff feels that the 2008 season is going to be a lot better for the team and the members' confidence. Determination is strong among the team members.
