2010 Florida Gators Tennis

The Florida Gators men's tennis team passed two good seasons in 2007 and 2008.

It finished the 2007 season with 15-8 overall and 7-4 SEC. In the 2008 season the Gators became SEC runner-up and finished the season with 17-8 overall and 8-3 SEC record. The key players for the upcoming season includes Greg Ouellette Nestor Briceno and Alex Lacroix.The No. 14 University of Florida men's tennis begins the 2009 season under the head coach Andy Jackson.

Last Season's Discussion:

Florida Gators tennis is (overall) the second best tennis program in the Southeastern conference. In the coaches' 2008 preseason tennis poll, the UF men was predicted to finish second in the SEC East (behind Georgia). The Gator lady tennis team is predicted to finish first in the SEC East and first overall in the Southeastern Conference.

In the final 2007 college tennis polls, the Florida men finished 16th; the Gator women 6th -- in the nation. Also, singles players Jesse Levine ended up ranked 3rd nationally and Diana Srebrovic ended up ranked 17th.

The head coach for Florida's men's tennis team is Andy Jackson and the assistant coach is Jeremy Bayon.

The men's team has a tough schedule this year with most of their tournaments being away from home.

So far, there have been fewer injuries on the team, compared to last season. However, the team is younger with a lot of freshman on the roster and only two seniors.

Greg Ouellette was voted the most valuable player on the Florida Gators tennis men's team in the 2006-2007 season.

Roland Thorngvist is the head coach for the Florida Gators women's tennis team. The roster for the team for the 2007-2008 season is as follows:

The team is a mature and experienced squad with 3 seniors and only 1 freshman.

Both Florida Gators tennis teams practice and play at Linder Stadium.
