The LSU Tigers men's tennis passed two good seasons in 2007 and 2008.


It finished the2007 season ranked15 nationally, with 18-7 overall and 7-4 SEC record. In 2008 it earned 15-9 overall record and 6-5 SEC record. It also stands 18th in the National Ranking at the end of 2008 season. Senior Michael Venus and James Cluskey will be the key players for the team in the upcoming season. The head coach Jeff Brown expects better performance in the 2009 season.

LSU Tigers tennis is moving up in 2008 -- big time! In fact, both the LSU Tigers men's and women's tennis teams are predicted to come in 2d in the SEC West this year.


The LSU Tigers men ended the 2007 tennis season ranked 15th nationally. But head coach Jeff Brown is expecting better things this season.




LSU's men's tennis roster for the 2007-2008 season is as follows (subject to change):

2009 LSU Tigers Women's Tennis Preview



LSU Tigers Women's Tennis continued its mediocre performance during the last two seasons. It finished the 2007 season with a 16-10 overall and 5-6 SEC record, ranked 36th nationally. In 2008 the LSU Tigers repeated almost same performance as it finished the year with a 15-10 overall and 6-5 SEC record. It came out as sixth in SEC and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2008 season. The LSU Tigers returns such following players as Megan Falcon, Mykala Hedberg, Nicole Kantor, Staten Spencer, Hannah Robinson, Kylie Adamek, Sloane Mathis, and Chandler Kleinpeter for the 2009 roster. Under the head coach Tony Minnis, who enters his 18th with the team,the LSU Tigers looks no less promising for the next season.

The Lady Tigers ended the 2007 season ranked 36th nationally. They were, and are, led by head coach, Tony Minnis. The players' roster for the 2007-2008 season will likely include:

  • Anastaiya Dubova/senior out of Novya khovka, Ukraine.
  • Megan Falcon/junior out of Alameda, California.
  • Mykala Hedberg/junior out of Oxnard, California.
  • Nicole Kantor/sophomore out of St. Louis, Missouri.
  • Chandler Kleinpeter/junior out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  • Sloane Mathis/sophomore out of New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Ashley Murdock/sophomore out of Memphis, Tennessee.
  • Hannah Robinson/sophomore out of Monroe, Louisiana.
  • Staten Spencer/ junior out of Memphis, Tennessee.
  • Tiffany Tucker/senior out of Fort Worth, Texas.
