Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State is 0-9 against SEC teams in bowl games. That has to be sobering for a team that went 11-1 in a season that saw them post their lone loss to Wisconsin.

The Buckeyes have Terrelle Pryor’s Rose Bowl performance in their back pocket, and if he can replicate what he did last year Ohio State stands a good chance.

Arkansas is led by Ryan Mallett. He passed for 3,592 yards this season and threw 30 touchdown passes this season. He’s dangerous because he’s got so many options to throw to; any defense that keys on one receiver will be burnt by another. The Buckeyes often use zone coverage, and they use it well. They have some serious talent in their secondary with corner Chimdi Chekwa, but can they match up with Arkansas? Ohio State might just end its struggles against the SEC.

I must agree with the post in general. As always when the Big 10 matches up with the SEC you have big strong guy's verse strong fast guys. Not that the big 10 don't have fast guys, it's overall team speed and defense's that are just way faster than any other conference. Pryor is a good QB and did very well last year against a Pac 10 defense, but he hasn't faced anything like a good SEC defense. It is the main reason SEC is what it is. And when your up against a offense that did what Arkansas did week in and week out against those same defense's, well it will be interesting.

If the game were played up north I would give the Buckeyes the edge. Last year in the Hog's bowl game it was like 20 degrees and the hogs and Mallet looked terrible in winning against a average team. Goes to show that SEC isn't built for the north cold. And the reverse to be said about the Big 10. The Sugar Bowl will be in perfect conditions which favors the Hogs. I expect the Hogs to score alot and be all over Pryor after the first quarter. The Hogs have seen dual purpose QB's alot this season and a few a lot better than Pryor.

Forget the 0-9 record against the SEC and all the rest of the stats in this one. Who can play the best and quickest on turf and 70 degree's without runing out of gas in a long, long game. I pick Arkansas by 2 TD's plus.

i dont think that ohio state will beat arkansas
i think it will be a high scoring game but they both have really good defence.this is going to come down to how many turnovers the teams have.arkansas has the best reviering core in the country.but ohio has great defence. ryan mallet has a great arm, he is going to be connecting to childs and willams alot.if arkansas can keep from turning over the ball, them we have a big chance.
