Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Michigan State Spartans

Alabama lost three games in the SEC this year. The only loss that wasn’t close was their game at South Carolina, which they lost by two touchdowns. Their defense was sturdy as expected and their offense was balanced and deep. Things just didn’t work out for the Tide this year.

Don’t make the mistake of assuming this group isn’t as talented as last year’s national championship team. They’re still loaded with talent. With Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson in the backfield and Julio Jones out wide, they can put points up with the best in college football.

The Spartans narrowly missed the Rose Bowl this year. They were consistent, yet unspectacular. They didn’t do anything that blew your mind, but they won all but one of their games. Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed close to 68% of his passes. Edwin Baker averaged 6.1 yards per carry for a total of 1,187 yards.

Greg McElroy and Cousins better beware when they put the ball in the air. Both teams possess a ball-hawking secondary. Alabama had 21 interceptions, while Michigan State had 17. As a whole, Michigan State boasts an impressive collection of players. They should at least pose a challenge to the Tide.

Capitol One Bowl: Alabama vs. Michigan State
by: Go with Bama

Alabama has had an extremely disappointing season as far as the Crimson Tide is concerned. They started the season ranked number 1 in the country, and they looked unbeatable for the first half of the season. Then they ran into a buzz saw at South Carolina and their National Title dreams took a tremendous blow. Now they have to settle for the Capitol One Bowl, and they are not thrilled about it.

Michigan State is in much the same boat as Alabama; they thought that they deserved a BCS bowl bid, but they were shut out even with an 11-1 record. This begs the question of will they be ready to play, or will they be more concerned about their snub in the BCS and not play up to their full potential?

Go with Bama in this one.

MSU Will Whip Nick Saban's Crimson Fanny
by: Mich State Fan

I don't get picking Alabama to beat Michigan State. This is a Bama team that just coughed up a 20-point lead in their last game...AT HOME!

Yes, I know they have Mark Ingram in the backfield. They also had him in the backfield when they lost to South Carolina.

Michigan State should be in the Rose Bowl. They'll settle for whipping Nick Saban's crimson fanny.
