Both Get Credit

On a non extra-point play...

who gets credit for the points in the stats on a TD pass the QB, the receiver, or both?
Both!

QB: att-comp-yards and TD
Receiver: catch-yards and TD
RB: atts-yards-TD

On a two-point (which was initially used in 1958)...

* if a runninG back reaches the end zone, he's credited with 2 points
* when a quarterback throw the ball to a receive and he scores; the receiver is credited with the 2 points scored.
* Please note: the RB is not credited with a carry or a 3 yard run; same for a QB-Receiver... the QB is not credited with a pass attempt/completion or 3 yards for his completion...the receiver is not credited with the catch or 3 receiving yards.
* should a RB fail to make it into the end zone...or receiver fail to score, the stat reads:

2 point XP Attempt--as a team stat.

* at season's end the stats are converted seperately as: 2 point extra point att-made; often the coversion are listed as: K-PAT Att-Made; 2-point Att-Made (or broken down run/pass).
* At times, you will see in old scoring plays, where a pass xp was made...if so, it's because of a botched snap on the snap...but it's still credited with only 1 play.

STATS + CREDIT

When the QB throws a TD pass 2A receiver they both will get credit! The QB will get a TD pass added 2 his stats & the receiver will get a TD catch added 2 his stats + the points! What is this a trick question or something, lol! Now when Emmitt Smith got the ball & Daryl Johnston made a block so Emmitt could score, Emmitt will get a TD run added 2 his stats but Darryl will get credited as u seen on Emmitt's Hall Of Fame speech when he got all emotional & gave the Mouse all kinds of credit that was due, lol! Marvin Harrison had Peyton Manning but Peyton Manning also had Marvon Harrison so there is no I in TEAM, get it so dont 4get about the LINE, lol! 1 person may loose the battle but if u want 2 win the SUPER-BOWL, the whole TEAM as 2 win the war! Stay open minded but THOROUGH folks! LOYAL FAN: E.
