texas will give alabama a run for the title

(new york)

why you want to know is because texas was in the same situation with usc and who won.... texas.

wasn't usc a powerhouse back then with a great offense and great defense and two heisman trophy winners. and it didn't look so good for texas on paper either.

You are right, but that USC team was the most over rated media built team in history. That year (and I predicted) Texas was by far the best team in the country and Vince was the best player in the country. And they had to beat them (USC)on their home field. The year before that, Auburn was undefeted and had the best team and running back in the country by the name of Cadilac Williams. They were picked over as the media new USC would lose. The year before that LSU won the nation title (BCS) by beating the Sooners and they made a power play and called it a co-championship. WHAT A JOKE!!!!. Anyway, not taking anything away from Texas. Colt McCoy should have won the Heisman (if not Shipley)and they are a great team. But as a long time FBS fan, and after watching them both a lot, I can tell you this Bama "TEAM" is one of the best I've seen in a long time. (next to last years Florida)They have a Corn husker defence and a real solid man handling offence that play's the same. Just so you know I'm fair minded, Texas got SCREWED last year and should have got to play Florida for the title!! Of coarse SEC would have still won :-)
