SEC Football Week 5 Results

by Dyke Marler
(Atlanta, GA)

I have to stop picking Georgia. Of the ten games I've missed this year, Georgia accounts for four of those. With a 1-4 record, they will
now be struggling just to make a lower tier bowl game.

Remaining games for the Dawgs are against Tennessee, Vandy, Kentucky, Florida, Idaho
State, Auburn and Georgia Tech. I simply do not see five wins in those seven games.

Mississippi State and Auburn beat a couple of pushovers, Kentucky continued a twenty-four year losing streak at Ole Miss and Les Miles
squeaks out another one. I have never witnessed a bigger debacle than what I saw from Baton Rouge last Saturday. Twenty-six seconds left in
the game, ball on the one yard line, clock running, no timeouts and Les Miles is making multiple offensive personnel changes. The
understatement of the year would be that clock management continues to be an issue for LSU.

But the big story of the weekend has to be #1 Alabama crushing #7 Florida. Folks, in the 4th quarter, Bama was playing their back-up, redshirt freshman QB, 2nd team offensive line and the 3rd string running back. I have been around long enough to have witnessed all the glory years for Alabama (8 National Championships in my lifetime) and I have never seen the program stronger.

Last Weeks Record
6-1
