Maybe the truth is that the sec is just overrated. Maybe they are the ones who have fooled the nation.

Other than lsu's win over va tech who else has the sec teams really beaten? I know tennessee lost to Cal. Florida's non conference sucks. Lsu struggled with Tulane for 3 quarters. Also 67% of the bowl games last year between the big bad sec and the BIG TEN ended up in favor of the BIG TEN. Wisconsin and Penn St. beat up on the likes of arkansas and tennessee.

And yes florida was the better team THAT NIGHT vs Ohio State. So you're pissed because you guys beat up on each other and you don't think that is fair. WELL IT IS CALLED PARITY. It happens in every conference. Just take care of business THIS YEAR and you will be rewarded with a better bowl game. If you lose a game or 2 (or 3 like florida) you will not be invited to the big dance. Maybe its the sec or pac 12 or big east or big 12 or even the BIG TEN that is "down" this year and we will never know it until either someone starts scheduling better non conference opponents or we need a damn playoff.

I can not speak for all BIG TEN teams but I know that The Ohio State University tries to schedule at least ONE tough non conference opponent EVERY YEAR. Since the schedules are made up 10-15 years in advance no one really knows how good each team will be that far in advance. For OSU home and home with: Texas, Washington(this year), USC, Miami, Va Tech and Oklahoma in the next few years. Maybe YOU GUYS are just average at best and the average teams just keep beating up on each other. That being said LSU is a really good team.

Ohio State is a really good team. As for the rest of both conferences there are some good teams but nothing great. The moral of the story is just don't lose and you'll be fine. I think the 3 best teams right now are: OSU, LSU and ORE. and someone will be left out and I didn't even mention Okla. BC, W.Vir.and ASU all of whom are still in the mix.

ITS CALLED PARITY and that is what college football has evolved into. Best of luck, you'll need it....I'm out.

My Fear!

I agree with your article. As an fan of OSU my biggest fear is that Michigan will pull the upset and win by 1 pt and OSU will be the one that is out while the 1 loss LSU and the 1 loss Oregon will be in the big show. Not because they are better but because the Big 10 has taken such a bad rap for the overall state of the conference.

If my fear comes true, M goes to the Rose Bowl and we are an at-large pick for a left over spot - which means we might not even get in a BCS game!

The best team in the country playing on 12/27 - not a pleasant thought.

So we have to follow your advice - just win them all!!!

Let's Talk about the SEC east. More National title appearances, more bowl game titles, More players go to the pros, Bring your over rated "1" so called team down to SEC. Florida took you out last season. Watch out for Georgia; that's a strong young team this year, probably gonna take the SEC championship this year. Ohio Buckeyes aint gonna win the title this year either and I can't wait to watch!

OSU fans have no business ever talking about a team being overrated again. The Big 10 is a joke of a conference. OSU has to win 1 maybe 2 "tough" games a year and they are so spread out on the schedule it's not even funny! OSU should never again be rewarded with a national championship game because of their mediocre at best schedule! After USC beats their @** just like FLorida and LSU have done, maybe then all the OSU lovers will finally see them for the joke that they truly are!!

That is the worst article I have ever read. Ohio State played so many top ten teams. You should not be dishing out on Ohio State. You should dish out on an Sec team. Sec sucks! Big Ten is Amazing!

I scoff at the Big Ten

As a Tennessee Vol fan, I scoff at the idea that Ohio State or any other Big Ten school would have the audacity to say they are on the SEC's level. How many times does Ohio State have to get annhilated in BCS bowls to understand they need to step up? You got embarrassed in back to back National Championship games that you obviously did not deserve to be playing in. You got embarrassed by USC last season and blew it against Texas in the Fiesta Bowl.

I can go back to the 90's when Tennessee beat up on Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George and cinderrella Northwestern in back to back bowl games. In 2001 Tennessee beeotch slapped mighty Michigan in the Citrus/Capital One Bowl. Tennessee just beat Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl 2 years ago. Get my drift?

No school besides Miami has more first round NFL draft picks than Tennessee. The NFL is littered with talent from Knoxville, starting with NFL MVP Peyton Manning. And I'm just talking Tennessee football. I won't even bring up the other schools who continue to be in the top 25 EVERY season and embarrass the "Lil Ten" in BCS and other bowl games.

The last three National Champions have come from the SEC and they lead the nation in attendance every season. What more proof do you need?

I'll be back in January when another SEC school is slapping Terell Pryor around in some BCS bowl.
