South Carolina Gamecock Decal

3 of my uncles played football for the Gamecocks in the mid - late 40's. I was given this by one of them who has since passed on. Can anyone confirm the date this logo was used? Still a Gamecock fan even in Buckeye country.

that version of the Gamecock was still in use when I entered USC in the fall of 1965. At some point during my 4 years there, the "fighting gamecock" (the one still being used today) logo was designed and on all things Carolina.

Old logos

That logo was used until the mid 60's. Then replaced by this one. http://www.carolinagamecock.com/old-gamecock.gif
This was replaced around 1969 by the current Paul Dietzel design.
