Georgia Bulldogs Spring Practice

On Saturday, April 2 Georgia held their first spring scrimmage. It was good one according to Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt. The Georgia Bulldogs will have their spring game on April16, 2011 in Athens. This year’s team will have a lot to work on to prove the nation that they will be in the top 10 in the polls. Aaron Murray will start again at quarterback, Washaun Ealey, Carlton Thomas, and Caleb King will be back at the running back position. The Bulldogs got a new running back named Isaiah Crowell. He will be competing for the starting job as well.

On the defensive side of the ball, Georgia has a new defensive line coach. Kirk Olivadotti, he came from the Washington Redskins; he was also a defensive line coach. The Bulldogs will still have Brando Boykin, Bacarri Rambo, and Richard Samuel. Georgia will open the season on September 3 at the Georgia Dome versus Boise St. The Bulldogs should have a better defensive line and a better secondary from last season.

The Georgia Bulldogs who haven’t won a national championship in over 30 yrs, and haven’t won the SEC Championship since 2005. The “Dream Team” will try to make the Bulldogs a competitive team. Georgia will be at Tennessee, at Georgia Tech, and at Ole Miss. Their first taste in SEC play will be SEC East champs South Carolina in Athens. If Georgia’s Aaron Murray has a banner season without A.J. Green, and having Orson Charles making those great plays, they will have a great season.

With Auburn not having Nick Farley and Cam Newton, and Alabama not having Greg McElroy, the Dogs will have a chance of being SEC Champs. If Aaron gets hurt, the quarterback position will be deep which is a good thing. Hutson Mason will be a sophomore and he already has taken snaps in ball games last year.
