Billy Cannon Story

At age 11 my dad told me at LAX to go up to this group waiting for our jet and ask them what team they are with. I approached a man and asked him. He looked me straight in the eyes and said Oakland Raiders. I thanked him and asked his name. He said Billy Cannon I walked back to my dad and told him.

On Sunday I went to the Houston Oiler game with my dad at Rice Stadium and they were playing the Oakland Raiders with Billy Cannon as their tight end.

Another great story of Billy is a close friend actually had a mini statue of Cannon as a Houston Oiler.

I worked with a friend who said growing up in Baton Rouge he was a Boy Scout and was at Tiger Stadium looking out of the stadium on the top row. It was Halloween night. He heard an incredible roar and looked down at the field and it was Billy making the famous run to Heisman glory and victory for the Tigers!
