best 2 teams ever -- just the facts

The best two teams i ever watched were the 1979 bama team (i don't know why this team is never considered), and the 1995 nebraska team.

There's no denying the scoring differential of 1961 bama team though.

No offense Jeff,but I know why 1979 Alabama is usually not mentioned in conversations of greatest teams ever. Their schedule that year was very,very weak. I believe it was ranked 64th or 67th most difficult in the country that year. Google Sorensen football rankings and bring up 1979 and check out their schedule and the won and lost record of their opponents. Again not to offend,but I would go so far as to say they were only the second best team in the country that year. I have studied and watched college football for nearly 40 years,and the two years I felt certain the best team did not win the National Title were back to back 1979 and 1980. In 79 I felt USC was MUCH stronger than Alabama. And in 1980 in my opinion Pittsburgh was stronger than Georgia. Of course this is only an opinion.
