BCS System is Outdated -- Proposed CF Playoff System

For the last three years there has been controversy surrounding the picks for the Title game. The game to be played in January 2008(OSU vs LSU)has made the entire nation dissatisfied.

I propose an eight-team playoff. There would be four games played the first week of December with four winners. Then the second week of December the four teams would play two games leaving two winners to play for the Nat'l Championship after the regular Bowl games, possibly during the week after the traditional Bowls.

To have eight teams in the playoff would certainly include the best two teams playing at that time. This year there are at least two teams who finished stronger than LSU and OSU.

Let this Playoff Selection Committee be composed of the AP, USA Today and the Coaches picks. Then take the simple arithmetic averages. This would allow a strong finish for the season to have greater weight.
