The 2007-2008 Arkansas Razorbacks swimming and diving team, also referred as the Lady Backs, has a competitive schedule this year as they face seven different top-25 teams. In addition the schedule includes five teams which were in the top-10 and the Southeastern Conference's four best teams.

The season was opened with an inter-squad meet, otherwise known as the Red-White, on Oct 6th and the official season opening was on the following Friday, the 12th of October. The first Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team meet was against Georgia and North Texas on Arkansas' home turf. In that event the Arkansas swim team won against North Texas but lost to Georgia.

The next meet was on October 27th where the Razorbacks headed to Denver to compete against the hometown team, and again in Utah. In both meets the Lady Backs reigned over the competing team adding to the Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team's already impressive record for the beginning of the season.

The final score for the Denver meet was 167-130 and Utah was 176-121. The Razorback swimming and diving team dominated the other squad in most every event, really giving the fans something to root for during the season.

On November 1st the Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team popped over to Kansas where they tallied up another win, but only by one point. It was quite the nail bitter for teammates, fans, and coaches alike. The meet was nearly three hours and during that time the Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team placed first in 10 events while Kansas only managed six.

The scoring lead changed place six different times, but that is unexpected with only one point in the end separating the teams. It was finally in the 400 individual medley (the 15th event out of 16) that the Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team finally pulled themselves into first place, where they would stay until the end.

The season will progress from there as the Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team attend the Indiana Open on November 15th through the 17th. The Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team will enjoy a bit of rest during the holidays before beginning the new year with a meet again Florida and Indian River Community College on the 5th of January.

The Florida team was ranked sixth by the end of last season and the Indian River Community College has won the NJCAA for 30 consecutive years.

On January 12th the Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team will find themselves competing against Missouri and Missouri State. Last year Missouri was ranked 24th by the end the season.

The final home meet for the Arkansas Razorbacks swimming and diving team will be on January 19th against Vanderbilt. From there the Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving team begins preparing for the Southeastern Conference and NCAA Championships.

The Southeastern Conference will be held on February 20th through the 23rd at Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Then the NCAA Championship will be held in Columbus, Ohio on the 20th of March and running until the 22nd.
