1. Tom Osborne did not have to build up 4 different teams in different parts of the country. Bryant did it and won.

2. Paterno never once beat Coach Bryant.

3. Bryant's coaching career was split between one platoon and two platoon football and he adjusted and won overwhelmingly in both era's.

4. Bryant helped spawn some of the winningest coaches and players in the game of football.

5. Bryant showed my state of Alabama that he could win with players both white and black.

6. Ask any of his contemporaries what they thought of him.

There are many other reasons why Coach Bryant was the best, but these are just a few. He was not the greatest player nor the greatest student of the game, but he was the greatest motivator that college football has ever seen and will never see again.
