1965 South Carolina Football Team

I am a graduate of USC-1967 and played for Marvin Bass and Paul Dietzel. I would like to know who turned in the South Carolina football team of 1965 to the ACC and why the NCAA did not penalize USC, but the ACC took the title from us?

When Bass left USC after that 1965 season for the CFL, and Dietzel replaced him as HC and AD. Upon taking over, Dietzel discovered the infractions and turned USC into the ACC office. It's also surprising that the ACC vacated ACC wins that season, revoking the title, but never revoked ACC titles in '78, '81, or '82 that Clemson won, despite the NCAA charging them with far more egregious violations during those years.

My understanding is the titles are only stripped and games forfeited or vacated when an ineligible player participates, and that Clemson's infractions were mostly of the recruiting variety and didn't include ineligible players.
