Upcoming game Georgia vs. South Carolina

by Kavin Caruso
(Georgia)

The Georgia Bulldogs lost last night to the Florida Gators 71-62.

Georgia is now 18-9,7-6 in conference play. Georgia who haven't won in Gainesville since 2001-2002 season, had a chance to win. At one point the Dogs had a 11 point lead over the Gators in the 1st half. The Florida Gators who are a fast pacing team, came back and turned the tide in the 2nd half. The Gators tied the game 35-35 when Chandler Parsons nailed a 3 pointer in the 2nd half. Georgia came back and led for a few minutes. Florida then tied at 42-42, Georgia's Trey Thompkins called a timeout after couldn't get the ball inbounds on the second try. Georgia then tried for the third time to get the ball inbound, then Trey Thompkins passed to Dustin Ware. It went out of bounds, Florida then got possession and scored.

The Gators took the lead and never trailed the rest of the game. Florida had a 10 point lead after three straight 3 pointers by Kenny Boynton. Dogs came back and was down by 4, 63-59 with 3:38 to play. Florida then ran away when they made 6 of 11 free throws.

Georgia will play South Carolina Gamecocks tomorrow night in Athens, and hope to get a BIG W. The Dogs beat South Carolina in Columbia two weeks ago. In that game, the Dogs were in command in the 1st half. South Carolina made it interesting in the 2nd half. Georgia hopes to not have the same repeat as before. The Bulldogs need to win tomorrow and beat either LSU or Alabama to help their cause to get into NCAA Tournament. Georgia finishes at home with LSU on Wednesday, then next Saturday, Georgia is at Alabama to finish the regular season.
