Please note that USC was (is?) a charter member of the ACC, and left the conference after the 1970-71 school year concluded.

Many long-time Gamecock fans consider John Roche to be the best all-round basketball player ever for USC. Not that English was not a great player.

Finally, USC has had sustained success on the baseball diamond for many years, and won the national title in 2010 & 2011.
