Prediction: Alabama Will Not Win 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship

The Alabama Crimson Tide are without a doubt the best team in college football this year. However, if there is anything that we have learned about sports in the last 100 years or so, the best team doesn't always win the championship. What are some reasons why Alabama isn't going to be the 2017 College Football Playoff champs?
The Quarterback Play Is Still Suspect
Last Saturday, the Crimson Tide took on an LSU team that had one of the best defenses in the country. In that contest, Alabama managed to put up 10 points, and they were unable to score at all until the third quarter. While it is true that they won the game 10-0, Jalen Hurts threw for only 107 yards with an interception. There will come a game when his ability to run the ball is not going to bail the team out.
Will the Tide Even Make the Playoff?
Currently, the Crimson Tide are 7-0 in SEC play, which is good for first place in the SEC West division. However, they are only one game ahead of Auburn, which they play on the final week of the season. If they lose that game, they won't even make the SEC title game, which would make it extremely difficult to rationalize putting them into the CFP.
While it is unlikely that Auburn would actually beat Alabama, it was only a couple of years ago that the Tigers defeated them on a last second return of a missed field game. That play is forever known as the "Kick Six". In other words, you don't know what's going to happen in the Iron Bowl until they actually play the game.
Anything Can Happen In the College Football Playoff
All the teams who participate in college football's version of the Final Four are extremely talented and can beat any other team in the country. Michigan is playing outstanding football at the moment and has one of the best offenses in the country. Clemson and Louisville both have dual-threat quarterbacks that can do to Alabama exactly what Jalen Hurts has been doing to opposing teams all season. If Washington gets in, they may be able to surprise the Crimson Tide just because the two teams don't play that often. It is important to point out that these games would be played on neutral fields, which could shift some momentum to Alabama's opponent.
Right now, it could be said that Alabama is the best team in football. However, there are many compelling reasons that point to the fact that the Crimson Tide are not going to be hoisting the trophy as the College Football Playoff champions in 2017.
