Out of conference games

by Mike
(Alexandria, VA)

Do you ever expect in your lifetime to see a major SEC program (LSU, Florida, Alabama) travel north to play an out-of-conference game against a Penn St., Ohio St. or a West Virginia type of program?

Is there a desire among SEC fans to see a game like that?

Do SEC fans get bored playing 1-AA teams like The Citadel on a regular basis?

Much obliged.

Who doesn't want more inter-conference games
by: MO

Mike -- I agree -- I'd also love to see more regular season games between teams in the major conferences. I think there are a few, but not enough. I know Tennessee recently signed with Ohio State for a home and home series. And, UT had one against Notre Dame recently. Vandy has played Michigan.

But, not sure why you blame the SEC. Maybe it's the other conferences that don't want it. Tough on coaches to have those tough non-conference games.

Would be great for fans though

artical?

SEC AD's have been quoted as saying that those northern schools won't agree to play SEC schools. Those yanks are a bunch of sissies.

SEC reigns
by: Anonymous

1) Most other "decent" schools have said on numerous occasions that they will not play an SEC team unless its a team like Vanderbilt, Kentucky or Miss St. because they are always bad.

2) Ohio State has played the SEC a total of 20 times (7-11-2). 6 of their 7 wins are vs Kentucky and Vanderbilt which are the 2 worst teams in the SEC. Ohio State is 0-9 in any bowl game vs the SEC.

3) Ohio State has announced that they will open their 2013 and 2014 season vs an SEC team. This team will be..... (pause for suspense) Vanderbilt! This is like Alabama opening their season with the University of Minnesota.

4) #2 Alabama played #8 Michigan in their first game of the season this year and destroyed them 41 - 14.

In summary, the Big Ten just can't handle the SEC unless they are playing the bottom feeders.
