Georgia vs Ole Miss

by Kavin Caruso
(Atlanta, Georgia )

The Georgia Bulldogs will be facing Ole Miss this Saturday in Oxford, MS.

Last time these two teams faced each other was in 2007. That year Georgia beat Ole Miss 45-17 in Athens. Last time these two teams met in Oxford was in 2006; Georgia beat Ole Miss 14-9. This season so far hasn’t been want the Bulldogs wanted. Lost to Boise State in the Chick Fil A kickoff, then would lose by 3 points in Athens to South Carolina.

Last week’s win 59-0 win over Coastal Carolina only gave the Bulldogs a little sigh of relief. If Georgia would’ve lost to Coast Carolina, Mark Richt would be in hot water by now. There are some good things that are happening for the Bulldogs. The new freshman running back Isaiah Crowell is playing good, he did rushed for more than 100 yards against South Carolina. Quarterback Aaron Murray still can sling it to his receivers, also tight end Orson Charles has played well.

Ole Miss isn’t exactly a cakewalk despite that they are 1-2, yes they lost badly to Vanderbilt in last week game. Coach Houston Nutt has been there before; he can take his team to greater heights. If Georgia beats Ole Miss on Saturday, fans in Athens will be little less angry at Mark Richt. I know Mark Richt seems to be on the hot seat, but former coach Vince Dooley and Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said no. They have both mentioned that Mark Richt will be here until at least his contract is done.

Isaiah Crowell had hurt his ribs against South Carolina two weeks ago had reinjured it again in last week’s game. Isaiah Crowell didn’t wear a rib protection belt in last week’s game, he will be wearing one this Saturday. Georgia lost their free safety redshirt Jakar Hamilton today. He will be transferring to another school; he played 13 games last year, started 5 games. Jakar Hamilton came to Georgia in 2010 from Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. Jakar Hamilton recorded 27 tackles with 1 interception. Jakar Hamilton started this season as a medical redshirt because of an ankle injury that happened during summer camp.
