Georgia is in the NCAA Tournament

The Georgia Bulldogs got selected for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008. Mark Fox is in his second season as head coach and he turned the team around. Georgia will be facing Washington Huskies in Charlotte on Friday night. The winner will play the winner of the North Carolina/Long Island matchup. They both will be playing on Friday in 2nd round.

Georgia has Trey Thompkins who is their leading scorer 16.1 points per game. Washington Huskies leading scorer is Isaiah Thomas with 16.8 points per game. Isiah Thomas also has a 45% field goal percentage. Washington Huskies who won the Pac 10 conference title with a 77-75 win in overtime over Arizona State. The win put Washington in the NCAA tournament. Washington Huskies finished third in the Pac 10 with a record of 23-10.
Georgia who lost to Alabama in the second round of the SEC tournament still got in with a record of 21-11. Georgia lost to the Crimson Tide two times in a span of 7 days. Alabama did not make the NCAA tournament at all!

This will be a good test for the Bulldogs if they want to make any noise in the NCAA tournament this year. Georgia plays Washington at 9:45 pm, that will be after the North Carolina/Long Island game.
