Georgia beats Auburn without any problem

by Kavin Caruso
(Georgia)

That's right, the Georgia Bulldogs men's basketball team beat the Auburn Tigers 69-51 this afternoon. The Auburn Tigers who came into the game knowing that if they lose, this will be it for them. Georgia on the other hand, knew if they win, their resume for a NCAA tournament would be increased. Georgia's Trey Thompkins led the team with 22 points, and had 10 rebounds to his credit.

Georgia will be facing Alabama tomorrow afternoon at the Georgia Dome.

Auburn finished the season with a record of 11-20. Chris Denson of Auburn led the team with 21 points and 4 rebounds. Travis Leslie of Georgia had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Mark Fox who turned the program around, can breathe a little easier for at least one more day. Georgia will try to revenge in last Saturday's lost to Alabama, tomorrow.

If the Bulldogs beat Alabama tomorrow, the NCAA committee will have a hard time not picking Georgia for the NCAA tournament.
