1969 Texas vs Arkansas

The below Youtube is still difficult for me to watch, and I was 14 at the time and remember the game well. ABC covered the game which was billed as the "Game of the Century" and it was #1 Texas (9-0) versus #2 Arkansas (9-0). 1969 season marked the 100th anniversary of college football, and the game was moved from its usual mid-October date to Dec 6.

The President (including then Texas U.S. Representative George Herbert Walker Bush) flew down for the game at Fayetteville and Hogs jumped out to 14-0 lead, and scored again to make it 20-0 but that TD was negated due to a holding call. Texas rallied and won 15-14 in the 4th quarter and broke the hearts of the Razorback faithful...again.

Other great games.

I was fortunate (or maybe unfortunate) enough to see the 1969 game but two more games I saw should draw equal consideration. The 1965 Arknsaas -Texas, 27-24 game and the late 1980's 45-39 Arkansas-Houston game. The latter wasn't televised but it is the best played gamde I ever saw.Hardly any penalties or turnovers and an offense built around passing vs. one built around running.
