Your analysis of SEC vs Big East is reasonable, and you fairly give the BE the credit it's due, up to the conclusion.

However, your conclusion that the BE is not a serious football conference is directly contradicted by all the facts you listed yourself.

And that "not serious" football conference posted another winning record against the SEC this year, including West Virginia's embarrassingly easy win against Mississippi State.



Editor's Note: You know what? You're exactly right. I read that the other day and meant to go in and adjust. Any conference can have a few lucky wins one year. That could explain the Big East's 5-0 bowl record last year. But, they've followed that up with more big wins this year. So, you're right. They are certainly a serious football conference. I'm off to fix that now. Really.
