While I have a tremendous amount of respect for the SEC, it's not yet true that the SEC "has already clinched the top conference bowl record for this season". The Big 12 can still get to 6-2, and if LSU were to somehow lose to Ohio State, they would fall to 6-3. Stranger things have happened.
