Actually you are incorrect about Rupp's recruiting. He recruited Wes Unseld in 1964 as well as had Butch Beard signed in '64 before it was revealed he had already signed a letter of intent for UL prior so UK backed out, 3 years before Wallace signed as the first African American in the SEC at Vanderbilt.

you could not sign blacks in SEC Til 1967, Rupp cared littleabout the color of your skin. But the size of your heart. He was a good Christian man.

Yes, Rupp did recruit Unseld before the first signing in 1969. Unseld chose to go to Louisville instead.
