ACC Deserves More Respect

I have an arbitrary way for determining at least ONE of the teams (maybe BOTH) playing for the Championship:

The champion from the league with the MOST bowl-eligible teams should be guaranteed a shot at the national championship.

This year, the ACC gets shorted for being better, top-to-bottom, than any other league. No team in the nation could go through an ACC season undefeated. Hence, the TEN bowl-eligible teams (the WORST of which, might
be Miami, of course NC State has the worst record).

Va Tech, BC, The U, Florida St., Ga. Tech, Clemson.even Wake, UNC, NC State, and Maryland could win on any given Saturday.

Yea, but ACC has no great teams

Rich -- good points. I agree the ACC has more good teams than any other conference this year. But, importantly, they don't have any great teams, whereas the SEC has 2 of those; big 12 has 3; big ten has 1; pac 10 has 1.

Still, you are right that the ACC deserves more respect. How did Boston College (ACC #2) drop all the way to the Music City Bowl to play SEC #7 -- Vanderbilt. Maybe the ACC will get more respect after the bowls -- or, maybe not.

We'll see.
