2011 Georgia vs Tennessee

by Kavin Caruso
(Atlanta, GA)

Georgia Bulldogs started the season at 0-2. Now Georgia has reeled in 3 consecutive wins, they are now 3-2. Georgia is in a 3 way tie in the SEC East division. Georgia is in 1st place with South Carolina and Florida. Both South Carolina and Florida lost last weekend by two Alabama teams. Georgia beat Mississippi State last week 24-10.

This Saturday Georgia will be facing the Volunteers in Knoxville. Last year Georgia beat Tennessee in Athens 41-14. Last time these two teams met in Knoxville, it was in 2009 season. Tennessee beat Georgia 45-19. The last two series were blowouts; Georgia is hoping to do the same in Knoxville. Georgia Bulldogs will not be with outside linebacker Cornelius Washington. He will be serving a two game suspension. Cornelius Washington was charged with DUI last Saturday night; he was driving over the speed limit outside of Athens.

Isaiah Crowell is one of the top freshman running backs this season. This Monday Isaiah Crowell was named Freshman of the Week, again. Isaiah Crowell rushed for 104 yards on 22 carries in last week’s win over Mississippi State. Georgia again will be using Isaiah Crowell this Saturday against the Vols defense. Georgia’s running game has improved a lot since week 1.

If Georgia beats Tennessee and both Florida and South Carolina loses, Georgia will be atop in the SEC East division. Georgia, who didn’t look so good at the beginning of the year, now looks like a contender in the division. Bulldogs must win the remainder of the year in able to win the division.
